CRISIS RESPONSE
TRACC 4 MOVEMENTS TEAMS can be mobilized to respond to movements on the ground actions PRE, DURING and/or POST DIRECT ACTIONS. The purpose of this is to provide specialized and movement-trauma trained support providers to offer assistance to local communities as requested by communities and in collaboration with communities to serve their needs.

PRE-ACTION
DURING
ACTION
This support, in collaboration and relationship with local communities, offers supports to movements, specific direct actions and/or specific organizations in preparation for an upcoming direct action.

This support can include:
-
education and training to organizers/activists on how prepare for trauma on the front lines of movements.
-
education on how pre-existing trauma can impact movements & can trigger individuals during direct actions
-
collaboration with local long-term emotional care and support providers to prepare them for post-action response & longer term relationship with movements as well as longer term care for individuals and communities
This support, in collaboration and relationship with local communities, offers supports to movements, specific direct actions and/or specific organizations on the ground on the day(s) of specific direct actions. This can include the immediate days/week before and/or after an action. ​

This support can include:

direct action crisis triage in the field during actions with trained movement trauma crisis care team providers
-
off-site crisis triage for folks coming and going from direct actions including activists and other healing care providers
-
preparing and equipping local efforts in preparing for day-of direct action care support and building infrastructure for any needed crisis response or trauma triage on the day-of or the days following action
POST-
ACTION
This support, in collaboration and relationship with local communities, offers supports to movements, specific direct actions and/or specific organizations on the ground on the day(s), week(s), or month(s) following a direct action.

This support can include:

debriefs with lead organizers and organizations of actions to assess trauma care needs and general emotional care needs for activists
-
education and support for organizers and care providers on ongoing care response planning
-
more intensive and longer term work with communities, organizers and healing care providers
